Hey, I’m Simy, the creator of O3: Hollow Descent.
If you’ve never used Kickstarter before, no worries. Here’s a simple step by step guide so you know exactly what to click and what happens next.
What is Kickstarter and crowdfunding?
Kickstarter is a platform where people support a project before it’s made.
You choose a reward, you pledge, and if the project reaches its goal, it gets funded and I can complete it.
It’s not the same as a normal store purchase.
You’re backing the project’s development and you’ll receive the reward(s) listed for your pledge.
What are Stretch Goals?
Stretch Goals are bonus upgrades unlocked when the campaign goes beyond the main funding goal.
Meaning: first we secure the base game, then the extra funding expands it with more content.
Step by step guide to backing O3: Hollow Descent
Below is exactly how to back the project, from start to finish.
1) Click the green “Back this project” button
Go to the Kickstarter page and click the green button. This opens the reward list.
2) Choose your reward tier and click “Pledge”
Scroll the rewards and pick the one you want.
Then click the black Pledge button.
Tip: If you just want to support without rewards, there’s usually a “Pledge without a reward” option too.
3) Add add-ons if you want (optional)
Add-ons are extra digital items you can add on top of your reward.
For example:Art Book (PDF),Soundtrack (Digital),In-game add-ons, like a character suit,STL files for 3D printing. etc
If you don’t want any extras, you can simply skip this step and continue.
4) Click “Continue to payment”
When you’re ready, click the black Continue to payment button.
5) Confirm your payment method and click “Pledge”
Enter your payment details and confirm.
Then click Pledge to complete it.
When do you get charged?
You will be charged only after the campaign ends, and only if the project is successfully funded.
So if the project doesn’t reach the goal, you’re not charged.
What’s next? (Digital rewards)
1) Pledge Manager after the campaign
After the campaign ends successfully, you’ll receive access to the Pledge Manager.
This is where you:
• Confirm your email
• Choose or confirm your digital rewards
• Add any digital extras you may have missed
No physical address is required for digital rewards.
2) No shipping, no customs, no extra costs
All rewards for this campaign are digital.
That means:
• No shipping fees
• No customs or taxes for delivery
• Nothing to wait for in the mail
Everything is delivered digitally.
3) Stay updated during development
Throughout the campaign and development, you’ll receive regular updates directly on Kickstarter.
These updates include:
• Development progress
• Behind-the-scenes info
• Timelines and milestones
• When digital rewards are ready to be delivered
You’ll always know what’s happening.
4) Receive and enjoy your rewards
When the digital rewards are ready:
• You’ll receive them via email or download links
• Instructions will be clearly explained step by step
